Privacy

privacy and new media go hand in hand. New media like FaceBook and Twitter are two examples of new media where one has and does not have privacy. The reason both have and do not have privacy is because on the one hand, a user can set their own privacy standards. However, their information, pictures, etc. is being seen and monitored by the people who created the sites. There have been and still are incidents when these companies sell the users information to others for a profit.

  1. I think those are both great examples of how new media does not protect privacy and confidentiality, but then again it is our decision to put certain info out to the public.
